Our hospice nurses focus on alleviating the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual discomforts of an individual who is experiencing a terminal illness or condition. They also provide family support to the patient’s primary caregiver and other family members. Our patient care coordinators participate in the entire process, starting with the admission of a patient. They assume primary responsibility for the physical care of the patient and continue to plan care with the patient’s multidisciplinary team throughout their illness. Palliative care nurses possess a unique combination of skills that enable them to provide expertise in pain and symptom management and to recognize spiritual and psychosocial issues.
